Building stronger workplaces from both sides of the relationship.
Workforce Culture Lab is Patchwork Global’s workforce readiness and workplace culture initiative. It helps employers build more welcoming, effective hiring and onboarding practices, while equipping immigrants and refugees with the soft skills, confidence, and practical knowledge they need to secure and sustain meaningful work.
Now enrolling: we’re recruiting immigrant and refugee job seekers for our first Workforce Culture Lab cohort.

For employers
Hiring well is about more than filling jobs. It is about building a workplace where people can succeed once they arrive.
For Newcomers
Getting a job is only part of the journey. Thriving at work requires confidence, context, and support.
WCL Employment Connections
Connecting people with opportunities—and employers with the community.
Finding employment opportunities should be accessible. Through Workforce Culture Lab (WCL), Patchwork Global serves as a bridge between people exploring their next career step and employers seeking to reach the community. We share job opportunities through our social media channels and community network, and organize job fairs and other events where job seekers can connect directly with employers and staffing agencies.
For Job Seekers
Explore employment opportunities and connect directly with organizations that are hiring.
Through WCL Employment Connections, you can:
-
Learn about job openings shared through our communication channels.
-
Discover opportunities through our community partners.
-
Attend job fairs and meet employers and staffing agencies.
-
Apply directly through the hiring organization’s application process.
Access to opportunities shared through WCL Employment Connections is free for job seekers. Participation does not guarantee an interview or employment.
For Employers and Staffing Agencies
Help your employment opportunities reach a broader community. We collaborate with employers and staffing agencies to share openings through our communication channels and partner network, and to create opportunities for direct connection through job fairs and other events.
Partnership options may include:
-
Job opportunity sharing.
-
Dedicated outreach campaigns.
-
Participation in job fairs.
-
Employer–community connection events.
Dedicated campaigns and event participation may be offered through paid service agreements with clearly defined activities and deliverables.
Our Role
We make opportunities more visible and accessible. Interested individuals apply directly to the employer or staffing agency, which manages its own application and hiring process.
Patchwork Global does not screen or select candidates, conduct or coordinate individual interviews, verify employment authorization, perform background checks, or make hiring decisions. These responsibilities remain with the hiring organization.
Sharing an opportunity does not constitute a guarantee of employment or an endorsement of every aspect of the position. Job seekers are encouraged to review job details and ask the hiring organization about pay, schedules, responsibilities, and employment terms before accepting an offer.
What makes Workforce Culture Lab different
Many workforce programs focus only on technical readiness or job placement. Workforce Culture Lab focuses on the human and cultural skills that shape whether people can actually succeed once work begins — communication, trust, expectations, rights awareness, self-advocacy, and belonging.
The model is also intentionally relational. It brings employers, banks, legal partners, churches, and community organizations into one shared ecosystem, so workforce preparation becomes part of a broader strategy for welcome and economic integration.
