Neighbor for Neighbor is a community-based program that connects local volunteers with newcomers during seasons of transition. Instead of navigating change alone, individuals and families are welcomed by people in their own community who walk alongside them.
Why it matters
Every year, people begin new chapters in communities across Indiana — arriving from other countries or relocating to unfamiliar cities and towns. They bring resilience, talent, and hope, but often face challenges as they find their footing:
Learning a new language
Building connections from scratch
Accessing work, school, and everyday services
Support makes these transitions easier. Community makes them meaningful.
