The reason behind Patchwork Indy

Patchwork Global was started to reach out to immigrants who were living in Indianapolis with no real sense of belonging or the stability that comes with being part of a community. Patchwork Indy began with the intention of connecting those who felt little or no connection.
Many of the individuals and families had come from parts of the world that were at war, under attack, facing natural disasters, or where people were persecuted simply for who they are. Leaving everything you own or have ever known can make a significant impact on your mindset, your emotions, your psychological wellbeing, and your ability to navigate a completely new and different system. We wanted to help people overcome those issues.
Patchwork’s overriding belief is that every person in the world is worthy of full respect, dignity, and the chance to live a full and fulfilled life. Every one of us wants the same things: safety, a good job, food on the table, stability for our children, and the chance to live in a society that welcomes and fully accepts us.
In these times of gross misconceptions and uncertainties, Patchwork Global exists to help individuals and families find their way to a life of meaning and purpose. We work to help communities understand and accept those who have newly arrived in their area. We ultimately hope to help every individual find and recognize their humanity, their worth, and their place in this society that they now call home.
